Wrapping Paper Tube Mini Album

I wanted to share this quick mini I made using a wrapping paper cardboard tube.  The pockets are roomy and could accommodate more tags.  I plan to embellish more when I get pictures placed in the album.  The tags are from the Sweet Treats cartridge, which in my humble opinion, has the best tags because they have toppers.  An additional pull was placed on the tags, a peppermint, was cut from Holiday Cakes.  Holiday Cakes was used to cut the sentiment on the cover.  The word "merry" on the cover was cut with my sizzix dies.

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #13: Inspiration Challenge!

This week we were challenged to create something based on a winter scene by Laura Amiss. I was inspired by the clouds and the rain that was falling from them. The art looks like it was made out of fabric and has a lot of texture with stitching.  I "stitched" my clouds with markers and chose paper that reminded me of fabric prints.  The clouds are from Going Places cartridge while the rain drops are from Pooh and Friends.  "Rain Rain Go Away" phrase is from Nursery Rhymes cartridge and is coated with glossy accents.  The raindrops on the phrase are stickled.  I made a journal card with an umbrella on in from A Child's Year.  I like to use the card feature to make spaces for journaling.  This little girl is actually a picture of me.

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #12, 9 Ladies Dancing

Time to break out the Shall We Dance Cartridge! For this challenge we must use the Shall We Dance for a project.  The twist, add nine of something in the project.  I made an 8 x 8 scrapbook page for my little ballerina's scrapbook.  There are 9 letters in the tittle "ballerina".  The phrase cut says mini ballerina but I cut the word mini off with scissors.

MPS Day 8 - 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

Here is my entry for My Pink Stamper's Challenge.  She would like us to make a project using blue, green, and brown.  I covered this note pad for my father in law.  He loves to remember his days on the farm.  The water pump should remind him of the good old days on the farm growing up.  I plan on making one for my dad, perhaps a golf theme.

The Magic of Winter

This is not my original idea but I saw Laura (http://followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com/2010/12/on-9th-day-of-christmas.html) create this mini cut by hand.  I just new I could make something similar with my cricut.  The houses and snowmen are not glued at the base so they can slide over the "snow pocket".  Each house is a folded card that you can place photos and journal on.  My album was not very sturdy so I ran a ribbon across the back that serves as a closure to the book.  All the cuts are from Winter Woodland, and one tree cut is from the Christmas Solutions cartridge.

Cricut Circle December Monthly Challenge: Holiday Gifts

The theme for this month’s challenge is geared towards helping you cross off one of the names on your holiday gift list by creating a Holiday Gift Item. Project must be newly created for this challenge and should include the following elements to qualify: use a tag made with a cartridge (there are so many great tags on so many cartridges), use the color red somewhere, use ribbon, and use the Phrase Feature from one of the cartridges.

My Entry is a chocolate chip cookie mix.  The glass jar was decorated with glitter stickers, fabric, and red ribbon.  My tag is from Winter Frolic (penguin key and penguin shift key) and I hid the candy with my Gypsy on the inner tag.  The inner tag was embossed with my Cuttlebug with the Flurries folder.  "Sweet Holiday Wishes" phrase is from Winter Frolic (penguin phrase).  The tag is decorated with chocolate chip cookies from Sesame Street  Friends.  If that cookie is OK with cookie monster, it is OK with me!  I crumbled up the top layer of the cookie to give the cookie some texture and glued it on the dark chocolate base with some hot glue.

MPS Day 6 - 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

This challenge was to make a Christmas card or scrapbook layout.  I made this card and finally colored in a stamp with my copic markers.  I was having trouble finding an ink pad that would not bleed on the markers.  Shout out to my friend Julie for telling me the correct ink pad for the job.

My Night Before Christmas Mini Album

I have been working on this for a while and I am happy how it turned out AND that it is done and waiting pictures.  I used the folded pocket pages from Kathy's (http://paperphenomenon.blogspot.com) Domestic Goddess Album.  She has a lot of punches but I do not so I used my Gypsy to make some Holly leaves for a faux punch look.  I also used a corner punch from Martha Stewart with my Fiskars straight line punch.

Birthday Card for My Brother

Here is my brother's birthday card this year.  He likes to restore cars and has a new project that looks like this beauty to me.  The car is Hudson from the Cars cartridge and I used my gypsy to remove the eye-balls on the car.  That sounds like it hurt!

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge # 10

Here is the challenge:  So this week we want you to create a project that is about, includes, or holds a holiday recipe. This could be a scrapbook page, a mini album, a recipe box or book, a Gift for a Neighbor . . . the sky’s the limit. But we want to see you pay tribute to a holiday recipe in some way.

Well, I am not much of a cook but my neighbor's do enjoy my brownies so I was inspired to share them this Christmas with this cute treat box.  I cut the present party favor from Sweet Treats including the present tag.  I cut the favor at 5 inches and there is room for a good size brownie and a little candy too.

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #41

A card of Encouragement was the theme for this Peachy Keen Stamps' Challenge.  I have a few sets of Peachy Keen Stamps and they are wonderful and work with your cricut cuts nicely.  The cat face is from PK-754 Critter Faces Sect A Medium.  This happy cat from Create A Critter is thrilled with his pin wheel.  Those pinwheels were a major score when I was a kid. So, I thought it was perfect for this kitty to hold and tell someone they are perr*fect.

Cricut Cirlcle Weekly Challenge #9, Black Friday

This weeks challenge was to re-use something, at least 2 cuts, and use the color black.  I picked up this pine cone from my front yard.  (at times I think it is raining pine cones in my yard)  I put a little house and trees cut from Winter Woodland on a base of fabric.  I covered the house and trees with glitter.  Holly leaves are from Jubilee.  The little snowman has a BLACK hat and I made the snowman with beads and a circle cut for the hat brim.
