2012 Mini Album

The Cricut Magazine Challenge for December is to create a project with the Cricut Craft Room™design tool.  This was tricky for me to think of a project to make but Cricut Craft Room is easy to use.   I decided to make a 2012 mini book to share the best pictures of  the new year.  I used Craft Room Basics Cartridge (free cart on Cricut Craft Room) and our last quarter cartridge Paper Trimmings to design this book.  If you don't own Paper Trimmings you could substitute cuts from any seasonal cartridge you own.

Take Out Gift Box

Looking for a clever way to wrap a pair of earrings for a friend's birthday, I found this take out box cut on the Sweet Tooth Boxes Cricut Cartridge.  I just love how it turned out and even made a paper fortune cookie for a "card".  For the cookie, I just cut a circle with my Cricut and folded it like you would a fortune cookie.  This in my entry in the Cricut Circle's December Monthly Challenge, a gift wrap challenge.

Day 10, MPS 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

For day ten, make a treat to give as a gift.  My girls and I have been baking for Christmas and thought I would bag up some peanut brittle to share with neighbors.  For my tag, I cut the phrase from Simply Charmed and then stamped the bottom with My Pink Stamper's Spook-alicious set.  (I just masked off the top of the stamp because it said "Spooktacular", leaving "treats for you!")

Day 9, MPS 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

Make a bow with stamping on it.  You can see the video of bow here.  I used a Studio G stamp with these leaves on it and glued the loops together with hot glue.

Day 8, MPS 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

Day 8's  challenge is to try something NEW.  I wanted to try a rosette cut on my cricut machine.  There is a cartridge dedicated to rosettes but I found some on Something to Celebrate.  I am not a fan on the "score lines" and often hide them on my Gypsy.  But I cut this with score lines at 2 in.  It folded like a dream and I could just fold in my hand... no score board necessary.  My daughter has her eye on this fabulous ribbon.  I think we will make some together today.  (Because I will wear this to make me feel special while I clean the house, he, he.)
Fabulous! sentiment from Family and Friends set by My Pink Stamper

Day 7, MPS 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

My Pink Stamper's Challenge for day seven is to make a gift box or bag.  This is an altered lunchbox for your "treasure".  The snowman cut is from Doodlecharms and is cut at 3 in, with a scarf from Everyday Paperdolls cut at 3.25 inches.  The joyful Snowman face is from PK-485 Snowmany Faces.  Mr. Snowman looks like he is enjoying the winter chill-  I am entering this project in Peachy Keen's Challenge too.  Check out all the other Peachy Projects here.

Let's Face It Friday, Fabric Challenge

This card is from Something to Celebrate Cricut Cartridge... but she is sporting her Peachy Keen face.  To my Peachy Keen stamps friends, I did buy some NEW stamps.  Sorry I keep using the same ones, but the PK-640 Princess Face Assortment is perfect for this cut.  Her scarf is made from fabric and I just love the texture it adds to the card.

Day 6, MPS 12 days of Christmas Challenge

I don't know if I can keep up.. but here is my Trash to Treasure Challenge entry.  This "trash" is an empty Crystal Lite container.  It is so sturdy and nice and I have to admit I hold on to these longer than normal while I toss them in the recycle bin.  After making this project, I think they would be great to hold a gift card, candy, or even some craft supplies.  The "store brand" case is a little longer and to my delight are the perfect length for copic markers.  So, I say, "Drink the punch!" and keep the containers :)

My Kitchen Christmas Tree

The Cricut Blog's Weekly Challenge is to create an ornament with glitter.  Why make one ornament when you can make a dozen?  I used the gingerbread cricut cartridge to make my ornaments. I sprayed the "gingerbread" with craft glue spray and then dredged them in salt.  (I thought about using real sugar, but I live on an ant hill.)  The white paper frosting was outlined in quick dry glue and sprinkled with glitter.

Santa Flying off the Tag

Exciting news for me, I was asked to be a guest designer at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!  The challenge is to make a project with Cricut tag cuts.  The prize this week is Coredinations paper and cuts beautifully on the Cricut.

I have a very thin mantel with a frame above it so this project has a perfect spot in my house.  I used a welded tag shape from Fabulous Finds for the base.  On my gypsy I layered another tag shape to create a frame the "Ho Ho Ho" charms.

Cuts:
Tag Base- 5 in, Fabulous Finds, cut 2 gluing one more pane base
4 in tag window welded with Gypsy
Ho, Ho, Ho- 3.25 in, Christmas Cheer, charms suspended with thread
Sleigh- 2.25 in, Christmas Cheer
Santa- 3 in, Christmas Cheer, Face Peachy Keen Stamps
Deer- 2.25 in, Christmas Cheer
Santa bag, 3.25 in, Joys of the Season

Deer is attached to sleigh with floral wire.

Day 5, MPS 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

Day five's challenge is to make a gift card holder.  It happends to be my brother in law's brithday so I made a Super Gift Card holder for him and a card.  I picked up some gift card holder boxes thinking I would be able to "doctor" them up for a special occasion.  My stamp is from My Pink Stamper's Family and Friends. Happy birthday Super Steve!

Day 4, MPS 12 days of Christmas Challenge

My Pink Stamper's Challenge for Day 4 is to create a treat bag with the color combination of Pink and Green.  I thought the colors would look cute on a Christmas Tree shaped box for my daughter's Christmas Stockings.  Tags, Bags, Boxes and More was used for the "tree" shape.  The tree is balance on a mini wooden spool that it covered with brown paper.  The sentiments are from MPS Simply Sweet Occasions.

Day 3, MPS 12 days of Christmas Challenge

Day 3's Challenge at My Pink Stamper is to create a Holiday Card.  I thought I would take this opportunity to play with Cricut Craft Room and my Imagine.  This little hedge hog is from Enjoy the Season and the Sentiment Stamp is from More Faithful Sayings.

Day 2, MPS 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

For the second day, we are asked to create a Random Act of Kindness.  My girls and I have been making goodie bags... lots of them.  We added a RAK treat bag for the Crossing Guard's dog, Miss Molly.  Molly sits in the Crossing Guard's truck to supervise the cross walk.

Speeding Dachshund Card

One of the great things about making cards is that you can customize the card.  This card is for my brother and he will get a laugh out of it.  Our childhood dachshund would sit in our sister's kiddie car.  Our parents would flip her hound ears back and tell us that Dutches was driving fast.  I think there are more pictures of our dog "driving fast" than of me.  (Woe of the youngest child, LOL)

Day 1, MPS 12 days of Christmas

My Pink Stamper is hosting a 12 days of Christmas, Videos, Challenges, and Prizes.  Check it out here.  This Challenge is to create winter or holiday project with everyday cricut cartridge.  I used Sesame Street Font for this Big Bird cut.  He has a scarf  made of ribbon and a sentiment from My Pink Stamper's Happiest Moments set.  My girls and I will be making goodie bags for their classmates tonight.  Our neighbor's daughter is in Kindergarten and I think she will enjoy this one.

String Up the Lights

I like the "old school" Christmas lights.  (I even have them on my house.)  Here is a string of lights I made with my Christmas Cheer cricut cartridge.  I raided the kids craft stash and tied the paper lights to a braid of plastic lanyard string.  And what project would be complete without a little ribbon?  This is my entry for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog's Rolling in Ribbon challenge.

Present Time

This week at Fantabulous Cricut, the Challenge is make a gift, create something with which to package a gift, or use a gift cut on your project.  I decided to decorate a gift box for a white elephant gift exchange.  The bow is from Something to Celebrate.  Pine cones are cut from Flower Shoppe using the heart shaped edge spiral cut and rolled in a cone shape on a  tooth pic.  The pine cone silhouette tag is from Joys of the Season. Who would know there is the ugliest snowman pin with devil eyes all wrapped up on the inside, (he, he).

Anniversary Ornament

This month’s contest at the Cricut Circle's Magazine: Use your exclusive Sophie cartridge to create something fabulous for the upcoming holidays!

My entry is an ornament to celebrate a "paper anniversary" for my niece and her husband.  I cut four birdcages and joined them at the corners with a touch of glue.  The top is held together by a flower cut.  The love birds are another piece cut from the Sophie cartridge.  The banner is from Enjoy the Season Imagine cartridge and is customized with the couple's name.

Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge #66

Here is my entry for the challenge.  This card was made with PK-416 Lorie and Al Gingerbread Set and a sentiment from PK-412 Too Sweet to Eat.  I stamped the gingerbread girl on kraft card stock and shaded her with copic markers.  Her dress was colored with watercolor pencils, and a polka dot stamp.  I broke out white acrylic paint for the frosting.

Oh, Christmas Tree

Here is a holiday card I made for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, Challenge #88.  I am still playing with my Imagine and Cricut Craft Room, CCR  This card is made with the Imagine Cart Enjoy the Season.  I used CCR to modify the image size and tree layer to fit an A2 sized card.

Sweet Gingerbread Card

The Cricut Circle's Challenge: We all have them in one form or another . . . flowers! Most of the time we buy them in a package, use a few, tuck them away and then forget that we have them. This week’s challenge we want you to shop your stash and incorporate purchased flowers into your project, whether it’s a card, layout, home decor item, etc. Be sure to include at least 2 Cricut Image Cuts on your project.

Easy Treat Box

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog's weekly challenge this week is to create a project with the words "thank you" or "thanks".  I made this large tag for a pre-made treat box (the box was 50 cents.. how can you go wrong?).  I will be making a mini loaf of pumpkin bread today and package this up to give our neighbor Miss Sandy.

Turkey is from Create A Critter, "Thanks" from Opposites Attract,
Tag Base and colors Imagine More

I have to say.. this project many not seem like much.  BUT I used Cricut Craft Room and was able to get my Imagine to CUT!  I even change the size of the pre designed image from the Imagine More cartridge.  I am just giddy-

Santa's Work is Never Done

I was looking at my Peachy Keen Stamps to design a card for their Sketch Challenge # 65.  For this challenge, follow the sketch and paper piece your stamps.  I have this darling train set, PK-242, and thought it would be fun to paper piece.  Santa gets bored driving a sleigh.. so sometimes he drives a train.  He can, HE IS SANTA!

Frosty Layout

The Challenge: Borders can be simple & sweet, elegantly detailed, masculine, or playful . . . and they can be that perfect final touch to add to your project. We want you to make a run for the border . . . your Cricut Borders, that is. Create a projects of your choice and include a Cricut Border cut somewhere on your project. Be sure to include at least 2 Total Cricut Image Cuts on your project.

I used my Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake for the icicle borders and the cute Snowman is from the same cartridge.  The phrase "frosty" is layered to make it look like chipboard is from Winter Woodland.
Journal tag is behind the photo.

Scarf was made with ribbon, just covered the die cut with ATG tape. Face stamp is from Peachy Keen Stamps.

Fall Centerpiece

The Cricut Circle's November Challenge: Signs of Fall with Texture Challenge!
The Challenge: Create a project of any kind using your “sign/sybmol” of fall (remember, this can be any fall item that brings that fall feeling to you). You also must include some way of adding texture to your project. Whether you use a cuttlebug, distress the edges, ink, stickles, etc. Your project must include at least 2 different Cricut cuts

Here is a centerpiece that will be on the kid's table this Thanksgiving.  (I have a large family and STILL sit at the kid's table... I am at ease eating with black olives on my fingers and sitting on chairs that are made for children under five. ha, ha, )

The crow's face looks similar to mine after cooking the Thanksgiving dinner.

Oh Boy! Mini Album

My Pink Stamper's November blog hop is ON!  After the hop, you can make a project for the November 2011 Pinkalicious Challenge.  For the Challenge, make a scrapbook page or mini album by SUNDAY night.  I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could get a mini done Saturday afternoon (and evening).  Here is what I came up with using my My Pink Stamper "Boy Crazy" stamp set and "B is for Boy" Cricut cartridge.
Oh Boy!- from Mickey Font

Me, Me, Me!

My Creative Time is hosting her Throwback Thursday Challenge and one lucky winner that enters the challenge will win her entire stamp release on November 18!  The challenge is to use a "kid friendly" cartridge such as Disney, Nursery Tales, A Child's Year.. and  make any theme project of your choice.  I was looking at My Creative Time's "My Favorite Sayings," stamps set and thought I could use it for my gorgeous Queen of Hearts. She is extra pretty because she is rockin her blue eye shadow. I masked the lower portion of the stamp and replaced with die cuts of the word "me".  Although, I am sure the Queen of Hearts enjoys crafting, caffeine, and chocolate... who wouldn't?

A card for Cookie

Create a card OR layout based on the sketch provided at Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge #64.  I enjoy making custom cards for someone special.  My girls have a great Aunt Cookie, a former teacher, who often sends them a BOX of books.  We just got a shipment on Wednesday, so I know she will be looking for a thank you card-
